Using up scraps of fabric

Scraps of fabric can multiply quickly and take up some valuable storage space.
The colours don’t always match to make a quilt and most times there is not enough to complete larger projects.
If you have the patience you will eventually find the time to get more creative and maybe find it addictive.
Some projects will require you to do some planning and matching and for others you can just go ahead and join pieces randomly.
This is a good way to master patchwork techniques like string quilting, foundation or paper piecing and crazy quilting.

Soft toys. I found patterns for these in an old patchwork book I inherited from my mother.

 Pincushions,lavender or cedar sachets and gift bags.

 

A crazy quilt. I was not concerned about matching colours because I intend to dye it to make a chair cover, but the odd colours and tones actually seem to work.
