This Betty Lou dress pattern is inspired by the vintage pattern from the 1950’s.

Redesigned for a more modern fit than the original pattern. This adorable dress is also longer than the original pattern. Instructions and illustrations have been updated.

A great beginner project for someone who would like to practice working with bias binding. You can use pre made bias binding or make your own binding.

The dress has a back opening with a button and loop. A hook and eye can be used instead. A zipper can bed installed if you prefer.

Great to wear as a summer dress as a pinafore over a t shirt .

Also looks great with tights or shorts.

Suggested Fabric

Quilting cotton, Chambray, Gingham, Lightweight Poplin, Rayon, Lightweight Denim

Add some more detail by sewing some ric rac or piping to the hemline before attaching the bias binding.
